The international exhibition of the horse (Salón internacional del caballo) will be hosted in Seville once again, in order to exhibit the beauty of the Andalusian dressure of these spectacular animals. With elegance and breed, they present the visitor with live shows of purebred horses that dance at the sound of the flamenco music.
In the thematic market, the visitor can buy some leather rustic handicrafts and other products related to this world.

Festival de Fado

21th November to 5th December

Coming from our Portuguese neighborhood, for the third time Seville will host the most authentic art of the Portuguese singing, the fado. This third edition is expected to display the best of its music and passion, making us feel in the Portuguese land through exhibitions, projections, talks and concerts.

Exhibition “Murillo y el retrato”

Commemorating the 4th centenary of the birth of the painter Murillo, many exhibitions have been opened in the city, being one of the most remarkable of the year. In the cultural area Santa Clara, the visitor can praise the work of the Sevillian artist.

Bullfight day at Maestranza Bullring

 Real Alcazar night visits   

… until October 29th

The Alcázar is an architectonic symbol of our city considered the oldest royal palace that still in use in Europe. This place, full of history, was and is an inspiration for the best writers, painters and musicians. On the summer months, this monument that is just a few minutes from our hotel boutique, open its gates also at night time every Friday and Saturday making a theatrical representation where the visitors will discover stories and secrets of this mysterious monument. Also, we can´t forget that in the Real Alcázar music concerts are organized every year from the end of this month until September where our senses will be fascinated with melodies, art and dance in this beautiful scenary: Nights at the Alcázar, but the dates are not fixed yet.

 “Velá of Santiago and Santa Ana” in Triana

July 25th until 31st                                

The “Santa Ana´s Velá”, in Triana, is the “July´s Fair” and the most festive event of the sevillian summer. This popular party has its origin at the end of the XIII century. This party started with the purpose of celebrate the religious festive of the quarter´s patron or virgin but, even when now it also has something of religious, the priority is the cultural acts: flamenco, folkloric songs, music, competitions… and, over all of it, is the party that celebrates trianeros and sevillians.

In Betis Street is where the stands will set up, the structure is similar to the Seville´s Fair, with free access. In Altozano square is where the stage will be installed where every night there are different types of actuations where the visitor will fall in love with the most authentic art.

Also, we have to give a special mention to the gastronomy that we could taste, which is based on a big variety of typical and popular dishes: fried fish, montaditos, ensaladilla, Spanish omelette… All of them with the company of a good summer wine or a very cold beer.

We can´t miss the wonderful views right there, where we can see Triana´s bridge, the Maestranza bullring, the Golden Tower and the Cathedral.

On this time of the year where the temperature is very high we can´t lose the opportunity of enjoy the Summer Terraces. Many of the restaurants and tapas places have available for the customers their terraces with a water system to refresh the ambience.

On the Guadalquivir, in Paseo de Colón, we can find a lot of terraces where we could taste the best cocktails with an amazing view.

At our hotel, you can also enjoy of this summer sevillian tradition in our private terrace located on the top floor with wonderful views of the city and the Giralda, symbol of Seville.

EVENTS JUNE 2016 SEVILLE

3     Sarah Neufeld´s concert in Sala Box Sevilla.

The violinist, song writer and member of the international group Arcade Fire bring us a musical show with a contemporary instrumental style based on her new album, The Ridge. The Canadian, founder of Bell Orchestra, will delight us with new sounds away from the minimalist and dark tendency that we use to see on her previous jobs.

3, 10 y 17  Cycle of Camera Music concerts in San Telmo’s Palace.

            The Barenboim-Said foundation organizes every year a cycle of camera music concerts for free (previous booking needed) in San Telmo’s Palace chapel, seat of Andalusian regional government. The wonderful musical pieces of important song writers like Gounod, Puccini, Rossini, Donizetti, Mozart… will bring us to another time.

9 al 12   Caesar and Cleopatra in Lope de Vega’s theatre.

                  This theatrical piece performed by the veteran actors Emilio and Angela Molina will bring us the eternal story of Caesar and Cleopatra in the modern time. The complicity, seduction and the power told in a passionate game of dancing, music and lighting where the actors will make us enjoy the purest theatre.

11          Manuel Carrasco ´s concert at the Olympic stadium of la Cartuja.

The singer and song writer from Isla Cristina will surprise us with his new tour “Bailar el viento”. After sell out all the tickets on his last concert in our city in just 30 minutes, Manuel Carrasco comes back to make us feel like we are flying with his music full of feelings.

12            Sounds of Alcázar 

With the summer nearly here, the Real Alcazar offers a programme made by the I Master of Classical Guitar performance. The futures international guitar promises are coming to the city where the flamenco was born to show us their art in one of the most important Seville´s monuments.

…12        Francisco Pacheco, Sevillan’s painter exposition in Fine Arts Museum.

In this exposition we can discover the most complicated portrait. The master painter and Velazquez´s father in law educated on the mannerism style that predominated that time in Seville, surprises us with a masterful brush-stroke, becoming the reference for the last third of the XVI Century. The exposition will be on the Fine Arts Museum until June 12^th .

5 y 12     Training Bullfight at La Maestranza bullring.

                  To finish this spring we have two days of training bullfight with Picadores at the bullring where the masters Diego Fernandez, David Martin, Juan de Castilla… will shine.

16            Andrés Calamaro´s concert in “Centro de Arte Contemporaneo”.

The concert is part of his tour “Licencia para Cantar” that the argentine musician has prepared on an intimated way. This show will bring us a mature Calamaro that, with the company of Germán Wiedemer playing piano, will thrill us.

20, 22 y 24           Opera DER KöNIG KANDAULES of Alexander von Zemlinsky in The Maestranza’s Theatre

                                 The opera season will finish with the premier in Spain of the 3 pieces play that the Austrian compositor left incomplete and it was performed for the first time in 1996. Under Pedro Halffter and John Axelrod’s direction, we will enjoy this piece on the Maestranza´s Theatre next June.

30            Estrella Morente y Javier Perianes´s concert in the Maestranza´s Theatre

The singer and song writer from Granada will meet the pianist Javier Perianes and, with words and music of Falla, Poulenc, Lorca or Bizet will provide us a maximum quality and fondness sound. This would be a couple to remember because both artists are on the best time of their lives as a musicians. A memorable show that you shouldn´t miss.
